Wynter OT Resources — Frequently Asked Questions
About the Library
What is the Wynter OT Resources subscription library?
The Wynter OT Resources library is a growing collection of downloadable educational resources designed to support children’s development across key skill areas. Created by a licensed occupational therapist, the library offers printable activity packs, worksheets, instructional guides, and reference materials for therapists, teachers, and parents. All resources are educational tools intended to support learning and skill development at home, in the classroom, and in school-based settings. They are not a substitute for professional evaluation or occupational therapy services.
What kinds of resources are included in the OT resource library?
The library includes printable PDFs and view-only videos organized by skill area. Resources cover fine motor skills, handwriting, prewriting, scissor skills, visual motor integration, literacy, numeracy, social-emotional learning, executive functioning, movement and body awareness, self-care skills, visual supports, and more. New resources are added regularly throughout the year.
Who are these resources designed for?
Resources are designed for occupational therapists, school-based OT practitioners, classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents or caregivers who want to support children’s development at home. Resources are created with child development in mind and designed to support skill-building, making them practical and accessible for those working with early learners and students developing early learning skills.
How often are new resources added to the library?
New resources are added regularly throughout the year. Members have immediate access to everything in the library as soon as they join, including all new additions during their active membership.
What is the difference between the Wynter OT Resources library and the shop?
All resources in the shop are available as one-time purchases and are separate from the Wynter OT Resources subscription library. Shop items are not included in the library membership, and library resources are not available for individual purchase. The library gives members unlimited access to the full collection for a flat annual fee.
About the Resource Categories
The Wynter OT Resources library is organized by skill area so therapists, teachers, and parents can quickly find what they need. All resources are educational tools for use at home, in the classroom, or as supplemental materials alongside professional services. They are not designed to diagnose, treat, or replace the guidance of a licensed occupational therapist or other qualified professional. If you have concerns about a child’s development, please consult a qualified professional.
What are Activity Packs and how are they different from other resources?
Activity Packs are multi-page, theme-based collections that explore a skill area through a variety of activity types, coloring, tracing, dot-to-dot, mazes, matching, cut-and-paste, and more — all in one download. They are designed to keep children engaged while building a specific skill from multiple angles. Other resources in the library, such as worksheets, guides, and reference cards, are typically single-format and more focused.
What fine motor resources are included in the library?
Fine motor skills involve the small muscles of the hands and fingers. Strong fine motor development supports handwriting, cutting, and the ability to manage everyday materials at school and at home. Resources in this category include coloring activities and fine motor practice activities designed for early learners in classroom and home settings.
What handwriting resources are available for teachers and parents?
Handwriting involves more than knowing how to form letters; it also draws on hand control, visual memory, executive functioning, and the ability to plan and sequence movements. Resources in this category support letter formation through guided tracing, multisensory practice, and structured repetition, making them appropriate for home programs and classroom use.
What are prewriting skills, and what resources support them?
Prewriting skills are the foundational stroke patterns, lines, curves, and shapes that children develop before learning to write letters and numbers. Resources in this category introduce those strokes through drawing, tracing, and guided mark-making activities appropriate for early learners.
What scissor skills resources are available for kids?
Learning to use scissors builds hand strength, coordination, and the ability to guide a tool along a path. Resources in this category follow a developmental progression, moving from basic snipping to cutting along straight lines, curves, and shapes. Adult supervision is recommended throughout scissor activities.
What is visual motor integration and what resources support it?
Visual motor integration is the ability to coordinate visual information with hand movements. It plays a role in handwriting, drawing, cutting, and many academic tasks. Resources in this category include line-drawing activities, matching tasks, and pencil-control exercises that give children structured opportunities to practice this connection.
What early literacy resources are in the library?
Early literacy involves letter recognition, understanding how sounds connect to written language, and building familiarity with print. Resources in this category support foundational literacy skills through letter tracing, alphabet activities, and structured practice that connects fine motor development with early reading readiness.
What numeracy and early math resources are available?
Early numeracy includes number recognition, counting, and beginning to understand quantity and number relationships. Resources in this category use visual and hands-on formats to help children explore number concepts in an engaging, accessible way.
What grammar and writing resources are included?
Written language skills like capitalization, punctuation, and sentence structure develop alongside handwriting and literacy. Resources in this category introduce early grammar concepts through guided written practice appropriate for home and classroom use.
What social-emotional learning resources are available for kids?
Social-emotional learning (SEL) helps children identify their feelings, understand others, and navigate everyday social situations. Resources in this category include feeling identification tools, check-in charts, and structured activities that support self-awareness and emotional regulation in school and home settings.
What executive functioning resources are included?
Executive functioning refers to the mental skills that help children plan, focus, remember instructions, and manage their behavior. Resources in this category build these skills through structured games and activities that invite children to practice attention, memory, and follow-through in a playful format.
What movement and body awareness resources are in the library?
Movement and body awareness play an important role in how children learn to regulate, focus, and engage in learning. Resources in this category use movement-based activities and games to support coordination and body awareness in a structured, playful format appropriate for home and classroom use.
What self-care skills resources are available?
Self-care skills like dressing, grooming, and managing personal belongings are important milestones for growing independence. Resources in this category offer structured, visual, and step-by-step supports for practicing these skills at home or in educational settings.
What are visual supports, and what resources are included?
Visual supports are tools that help children understand expectations, manage transitions, and navigate their environments more independently. Resources in this category include First/Then boards, schedule visuals, transition tools, and other supports that increase predictability and reduce uncertainty for children at school and at home.
What are the Parent and Teacher Guides in the library?
Parent and Teacher Guides are practitioner-informed reference resources designed to help adults understand the skills behind what children are learning. Topics include developmental patterns and practical strategies written in accessible language for therapists, educators, and caregivers.
